I hear people say all the time, "I can't seem to meet anyone." Well, you'd meet someone if you skipped the nightclub/bar scene once in a while and go somewhere else.
First, you must examine your hobbies, what are they? If you don't have any hobbies, create one. There many social clubs or groups that are centered on hobbies, find one and join. Make sure you join one that has the kind of people you want to meet. For example, if you are looking to date a white collar professional, you won't meet one at the coupon swapping club. And if there is a white collar professional at the coupon club, run.
Go to the gym, get in shape and get a date. At the gym, though everyone is sweaty from exercising, it is a great place to meet someone. You get to scope out the goods on the potential, and learn small things about them. If it doesn't work out, what do you have to loose? A few pounds.
At work, I know what you are thinking, DON'T date a co-worker EVER. Grow up and date whoever you please, just be responsible and take into account that it may not work out. If you think about it, you spend one-third of your day with co-workers so you know a lot about them already. You should exercise good judgement if you decide to court a co-worker. After all, not all workplace romances end up with someone getting their tires slash or a sexual harrassment lawsuit, some do end up in happy marriages.
