If  you  are single, I'm sure at some point you have thought of speed  dating.  Speed dating is a multi-million dollar industry that  at  times  rivals  Internet dating.  Before you try speed dating,  you  should  know  what to expect and that's where MSM comes  in.  Monthly,  MSM  is  sending  a subject*  to  try a different local speed dating event and write about it.

I  arrived  early  and  began  chatting with a few people while waiting  for  the  event  to  start.  There was a complimentary buffet  set up for the daters and but the booze was not free. I ordered  a  beer  and  was  shortly assigned to my first dater. There  were about 36 men and women eagerly waiting. I was given a  seating  chart  to  the  men  that  I  would  be dating that

evening.  I bought a small notepad with be so that I could take notes on my daters. The hostess rang a bell every 10 minutes or so so that we may change partners. That  night  I met 8 guys and was not very impressed. I did not find  my daters to be positive singles. One guy was so into his

job that I got bored instantly.

Outcome

Typically  after  the  event,  daters  are  to  log  in  to the 8minutedating  site  and  enter  their matches, if any.  If you choose  someone as a match and they also choose you, you'll get

access  to  their  contact  information. As for me, I choose no matches and I doubt anyone chose me.

Final thoughts

Pros:  The  speed dating instructions were very easy to follow, complimentary appetizer, the time and date were convenient, the location  was  relatively  close  to public transportation, the

majority  of  the daters were professionals,  and the venue was very accommodating.

Cons:  Two  women who  were turned  away  because there weren't enough men for them (I hope they received a refund). 8minutedating  gets a B+ because the only thing I observed were

the  two  women  leaving  because there were not enough men for them. I hope 8minutedating plans better next time.
